DESCRIPTION:As you are aware since the beginning of January\, 2017\, it has
  been a requirement that all importers take insurance exclusively with l
 ocal underwriters. Since then marine insurance premiums have been on the 
 rise and continue to grow. There is still a huge opportunity for insurance
  players to increase and improve their business through marine offerings.

 
  
 However marine insurance still remains a complex area that requires
  a thorough understanding and knowledge to be able to effectively execute 
 it. This is more so on the technical areas of marine underwriting and clai
 ms. In view of this\, the Insurance Institute of East Africa (IIEA) has or
 ganized a comprehensive 3 days’ workshop on Marine Insurance Underwritin
 g and Claims Management. This training is designed to equip the participan
 ts with knowledge and skills to assess and underwrite risk relating to mar
 ine insurance and to survey risk exposure. It is also designed to enable p
 articipants to understand the legal terms and concepts\, and explain the p
 rocess\, principles and adjustment of marine insurance claims.
