The Need to Develop Insurance Professionals in Kenya and the region

The insurance industry in Kenya and across the region continues to evolve in response to changing customer expectations, emerging risks, digital transformation, regulatory developments and increasing demands for stronger professional standards.

As the industry grows in complexity, the need for knowledgeable, skilled and professionally prepared insurance practitioners becomes increasingly important. Building sustainable insurance markets requires not only strong institutions and effective regulation, but also professionals with the technical knowledge and practical capabilities needed to serve customers, manage risk and contribute to the development of the sector.

The Insurance Institute of East Africa (IIEA) continues to support this development through professional education and qualifications designed to strengthen insurance capability in Kenya and across the wider region.

An important reflection of this commitment was the presentation of diplomas on 4 September 2026 to successful candidates of the International Diploma in Insurance, marking another significant milestone in their professional development.

The occasion recognised the commitment and achievement of the graduates while also reflecting the wider importance of continuous professional development within the insurance industry.
